Buy One Get One Free (BOGO) Discount (v8.0)

When implementing a BOGO (buy one get one) sale the transaction will actually take a dollar amount off of every item. The transaction is processed this way because it allows a dollar value to be given to every item, therefore, if one of the products needs to be returned you know exactly how much the customer spent. 

Here is an example of the discount per item:
Buy 1 Get One Free: 50% off each item
But 2 Get One Free: 33% off each item
Buy 3 Get One Free: 25% off each item

This example is set up for Buy Three Get One Free . Depending on how what type of BOGO sale you have the quantity and percent off will need to be modified.

To set this up in your cart please follow these instructions:

  • Log in to your Cart32 Administration
  • Click on Shopping Cart
  • Discounts
  • Click Add Discount Item
  • Click the EDIT link on the new discount line

    Fill out the following information:
  • Name: BOGO Sale
  • Active (checked), Set to inactive after use (optional)
  • Start Date: Enter the sale start date (ie: 08/20/2030)
  • End Date: Enter the sale end date (ie: 09/04/2030)

    Condition 1:
  • Base On: Discount Code
  • Comparison: Equals
  • Value: BOGO2010
  • Set the drop down between Condition 1 and Condition 2 to AND

    Condition 2:
  • Base On: Part Number List
  • Comparison: Equals
  • Value: 4:enter your part number list that will be used in the sale.  The number will need to change based on your particular sale. However, it will need to be the total number of items purchased for the sale. ie: Buy three get one free is 4. 

    Discount Type: Percent off items
    Amount: 0.25

    Enter the Part Numbers and Quantity Needed to Apply Discount in the table
    Part No: 123, Qty needed: 1 this number reflects how many of this item you need to buy in order for the discount to apply 

    Don’t forget to CLICK SAVE! 

    Once this is set up, please remember to test your discount code. You can send a test order through your store by using the test VISA card number:
    Card Number: 4111 1111 1111 1111 
    Exp Date: 12/10 (any date in the future will work)
    CVV2 Code: 123

    Helpful Tips:
    Make sure the Discount column if visible. To do this, follow these steps:
  • Click the Appearance tab
  • Click Item List
  • Under Item List Columns make sure Discount is checked
  • Click Save
