Itemlist (View Cart) (v8.0)
Posted by on 29 August 2011 11:28 AM
When a customer adds an item to their cart they are taken to the Cart32 Itemlist. This is often times called the View Cart page because you can view all the items you've added to your cart so far. It is important that your customer be able to reach the itemlist whenever they are ready to check out. Therefore, a link directly to their itemlist should be on every page of your site.

Examples For View Cart Links

There are two ways of taking your customer to their itemlist: POST (form) and GET (link). Both do the same thing essentially, but we'll cover both methods here. In our examples below we will assume the cart is hosted at http://www.Cart32.com/cgi-bin/cart32.exe and the client selling the items is TEST.

View Cart (GET/Link)
<a href="http://www.Cart32.com/cgi-bin/cart32.exe/TEST-itemlist">View Cart</a>

View Cart (POST/Form)
<form method="POST" action="http://www.Cart32.com/cgi-bin/cart32.exe/TEST-itemlist">
<input type="submit" value="View Cart" />
</form>

Customizing the Itemlist Via Cart32 Settings

The itemlist (view cart) page can be customized in many ways. There are Cart32 settings and template files which can be modified to change the appearance of the itemlist page.

Additional Customization Through Template Files

Often times clients wish to modify the template file that controls the itemlist directly. This level of control (when used in conjunction with the Cart32 settings) can give a massive amount of styling control to help match the checkout pages to the main website. To manage the itemlist template follow these steps:
  1. Log into your Cart32 Administration

  2. Navigate to the Shopping Cart category --> Appearance 2 subcategory --> Template Files tab

  3. Select the Itemlist.html template from the dropdown and click Load Template File

  4. Modify the HTML and/or Cart32 tags (those which start with an exclamation point) and click Save
